Third Quarter Estimated Taxes Due
Monday, August 1, 2022
As a reminder, third quarter estimated tax bills are due on August 1, with a grace period of ten calendar days. The reason that these bills are estimates is because the final tax rate has not yet been certified by the County, and New Jersey statute allows municipalities to send out estimated bills even when the final amounts are unknown.
A reconciled fourth quarter bill will be sent out in September, after all rates are certified, and will detail the quarterly breakdown of your property taxes.
While it is tempting to multiply the estimated third quarter bill by four to approximate the tax increase for the year, doing so is inaccurate. Please refer to the property example and formula on our website for additional information.
The office of the Tax Collector is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. In addition, payment may be made online, or via mail.
There are also two drop boxes marked for property tax/sewer fee payments located at the municipal building:
- Through the first set of doors in the Police Station
- In the rear parking lot, next to the United States Postal Service (USPS) mailbox
Please do not leave cash in the drop boxes; cash payments (in exact change) are only accepted during regular office hours.
Please note that while interest is not being collected during the ten day grace period, it does still accrue. After August 10, interest from August 1 to the date of the payment will be charged.
